Boats on a foggy River Dee

The River Dee spans a length of 70 miles, with portions flowing through Chester. This photograph captures the scene from Handbridge on the river's south side, close to Edgar's Field.

While the River Dee experiences tidal fluctuations from the Dee Estuary to Chester's centre, there are specific periods within the tide cycle when this particular stretch of the river becomes exceptionally calm. This particular image was shot on an unusually sunny and foggy morning, capturing a moment when two moored boats remained nearly motionless.
