This hand-crafted Medieval reproduction is taken from an original mid-15th-century carving found on the misericords within the choir stalls of Cartmel Priory. Created from a mould taken directly from the original, the piece preserves the delicacy, balance, and fine workmanship of the medieval carving.
The subject is a beautifully rendered cherub’s head, carved by the master craftsmen working at Cartmel Priory around 1450. Remarkably well preserved in the original, the carving reflects both devotional symbolism and the high level of skill achieved by late medieval woodcarvers.
Cast in a high-quality resin composite and carefully hand-stained, this reproduction retains every detail present in the original - including tool marks, wood grain, and the subtle imperfections that have accumulated over centuries. The result is an artefact of exceptional authenticity, closely echoing the character of the historic carving.
Designed for wall mounting, this elegant piece makes a refined focal point, whether displayed alone or as part of a wider collection. Supplied complete with a wall fixing and product label.
