This hand-crafted Medieval reproduction is taken from an original c.1380 carving found on the misericords and supports within the choir stalls of Chester Cathedral. Cast from a mould made directly from the original, the piece preserves the intricate detail, texture, and character of the historic work.

The carving depicts a small man courageously confronting a Wyvern, a fearsome mythical beast often portrayed as a devilish dragon. Unlike placid dragons, the Wyvern symbolises evil, danger, and chaos. This dramatic scene embodies the classic medieval moral lesson of good triumphing over evil, with the ordinary man emerging victorious against the menacing creature.

Cast in a high-quality resin composite and carefully hand-stained to evoke the appearance of aged wood, this reproduction faithfully captures the fine detail, expressive forms, and craftsmanship of the original carving.

Designed for wall mounting, this striking piece makes a captivating and conversation-starting focal point in any interior. Supplied complete with a hanging hook and product label.
