This hand-crafted Medieval reproduction is taken from an original mid-15th-century carving (c.1433–1470) found on the misericords of St Laurence’s Church, Ludlow. Cast from a mould made directly from the original, the piece preserves the fine detail, texture, and expressive form of the historic carving.
The subject depicts a resting hart, flanked by supporting dogs, and is a symbol closely associated with Richard II. This carving is one of the most admired misericords in St Laurence’s Church, celebrated for both its craftsmanship and historical significance. The original remains in excellent condition for a work of nearly six hundred years, and this reproduction faithfully captures its detail, colour tones, and the remarkable skill of the medieval carvers.
Cast in a high-quality resin composite and carefully hand-stained to evoke the appearance of aged wood, the reproduction retains the authenticity and character of the original work.
Designed for wall mounting, this elegant artefact makes a distinguished focal point, whether displayed alone or as part of a wider collection. Supplied complete with a wall fixing and product label.
