This hand-crafted Medieval reproduction is taken from an original carving found on the misericords within the choir stalls of Lincoln Cathedral. Cast from a mould made directly from the original, the piece preserves the fine detail and sense of movement present in the medieval carving.

The subject depicts an owl perched on a branch amid foliage, its wings partially spread as if about to take flight or having just landed. Both alert and expressive, the carving reflects the medieval fascination with the natural world and the careful observation of birds of prey by cathedral craftsmen over 500 years ago.
