This serene giclée print captures a wintry moment on the River Dee, viewed from Handbridge on the south side of Chester, near the historic Edgar’s Field. The image showcases a striking red boat resting on still water, framed by trees delicately coated in hoar frost.

The scene followed an exceptionally cold and humid evening, creating the perfect conditions for hoar frost to form. This distinctive, feathery frost occurs when airborne water vapour freezes directly onto surfaces that are already below zero, resulting in intricate patterns of ice crystals that lend the landscape a magical, ethereal quality.

Printed using the giclée process, this fine art print is created on premium 300gsm acid-free, 100% cotton rag paper with a classically smooth, mould-made finish.
