The Ripon Demon

This hand-crafted reproduction is taken from a medieval (c.1490–1495) carving found on the choir stalls of Ripon Cathedral, England. Unlike the typical misericord support carvings, this piece is located on the armrests between the stalls and depicts a mythical demon, intended in the medieval period to ward off evil and protect the cathedral’s occupants during long services.

Carefully cast from a mould of the original, this reproduction preserves all the intricate detail and character of the original carving. Designed for display, it comes with a wall hanging fixture and product label.
